I’m a bit motivated, but this video producer would have liked different information.,
I have over a decade of experience producing videos but have not touched on Special Interest Videos (SIVs). This book spent more than one occasion extrapolating the math: “shoot this video, sell this much a month and get this much per year”. Then they would even multiply that by an example if you shot ten of those videos. What I was interested in was the interaction between the video producer (me) and the subject matter expert (person xyz). Repeatedly they mentioned how they prefer a ‘buy out’ option but never give suggestions/examples/guidelines on that dollar amount. I understand every situation would be unique but given the examples on dollar amounts to be made, this was a key point I was hoping a large chapter would be dedicated to.
I do appreciate how they outline how much a production would cost. There are things a lot of rookies do not consider that are a very real part of budgets. Also the forms in the back can be helpful.
If nothing else. I am more motivated now to pursue a few ideas I have.
