I bought this program the other day. It is very intimidating with so many features, you dont know where to begin. I watched the video that came with it. The video helped a little.
I bought this program to record a story that I wrote while inserting sound effects and music. After a few hours playing with it, I got it working to my satisfaction. I would have to say that this program is as complicated as Adobe Photoshop. If you are new to making music like I am, prepare for a huge learning curve, but it is worth it.

Received Music Maker 11 quickly and in great condition. Finally decided on Music Maker over Sound Forge because of boasted features.

The program does everything it claims and more but not everything works well. The voice recording, Cher effect and auto harmony are terrible! I am a well equipped musician with high end audio hardware so it’s not my sound card that’s the problem. Also the “real time” editing although handy is a bit cumbersome and tends to make the audio stutter and pause before resuming (again – not my equipment).

The other features are great; especially the Master Suite and audio effects. The MP3 export feature is awesome but limited to 20 exports before you have to pay and I still haven’t figured out how to change the chord of a specific sample – an important feature that should be there! All in all I love the program, it’s easy to use and a lot of fun for the musician at any level. Most likely many of my issues have been resolved in version 12 but who has the $$ to buy that after buying version 11?

If you want to lay down tracks, make your own music or add studio reverb to your existing recordings then buy this software. If you want to manipulate vocals or remix existing songs… check out version 12.

I have two versions of music maker: 6 and 11 deluxe.
I’m just going to review the 11.
    Pros:
-This programs has a lot of effects and “tweaking” capabilities such as: stereo, amp simulation, eq, reverb, etc.
    -Its relatively intuitive.
    -Tons of loops.
-Cheap. Got in on sale at 9.99.

    Cons:
-The program somehow WILL CORRUPT ALL YOUR PROJECT FILES. You won’t be able to open them.
That pretty much sums it all. Don’t buy the program.

I’m an amateur recording artist, and spent lots of hours recording my songs and the program won’t even recognize the project files. I thought it was my computer, but I have re-installed the program again and again. Its a faulty program.
