Excellent resource for not just therapists, but for all writers,
Her advice does not end with the writing of the book. She covers publishing options and their pros and cons. Query letters, media kits, books proposals and acquiring an agent are all discussed thoroughly. The aspiring writer is not left wondering about marketing and all that must happen after you type The End.
Throughout the book and in a handy section at the end are hundreds of useful links and resources. The author supplements her teaching with real life examples of therapists who have written books, and done well with them.
If you’ve ever wondered about writing a book, this is a must-read book. The tone is encouraging, the language clear. I read a lot of writing books and have a book on a bestseller list, but I learned a lot from “The Therapist Writer”. My Kindle edition is full of bookmarks, highlights and notes.

Very good follow up to his first book,
As I just recently self pubbed my first short novel/novella, I wanted to see what I could do setting up a website for little to no money. (I’m the stereotypical cash-strapped writer, lol.) The website I was contemplating setting up was an all modular, drag and drop-type of set up, but I felt the cost on a monthly basis just doesn’t work at this point in time.
So I got this book. And it pointed me in directions I never thought about. It discussed certain things about websites I’d never considered. As I already have a free blog, I didn’t pay as much attention to that, but I’ll re-read because I figure I can only better my blog with more suggestions. 🙂
And his advice on using a Google external tool for a domain name – it was the easiest explanation for using that particular tool that I’ve ever seen.
Well worth the (paltry) price for the ebook version.

A “How to” Worth Your Time & Money,
Matthews gives a good overview of the technical difficulty of various hosting options from having to code and upload your own site, to WYSIWYG editors, to visual editors, to drag and drop templates. Each has its advantages and limitations.
Best of all, everything in this book is in plain English that anyone from beginner to proficient can understand. That is an accomplishment of its own! I have seen few books so well written yet able to offer something new to someone like myself who has experience building websites.
On the other hand, you will not be an expert after reading this book. You will understand your options for free hosting. You will understand the advantages of blogs and websites and why you may want both. You will understand how to select a host based on your experience and site building skills.
All in all, I would say you can’t do better for the price.
